Bringing high-end aesthetics to a low budget product line. We designed and developed a living room furniture set for the modern European home. Our goal was to create a minimalistic family which communicates simple yet warm design language through essential details and basic geometry. The biggest challenge was to bring this Danish Design language based look and feel to the low budget market, which currently mostly consist of cheap looking MDF panel furniture with trendy design features. We wanted to realize a series non-specific to context and time, and only add additional functionality, such as LED lighting, where it made sense. We saw a great opportunity in using bamboo as our main material. Bamboo is relatively cheap in China (where the products will be made), and it already highly accepted and appreciated as a material in European interior.
